I'm almost finished with this class, and boy has it been a ride! I have been pushed, but learned many new things along the way. As technology quickly evolves, it is very hard to keep up sometimes. Through this class, there were very few things that I knew previously. Out of all of the assignments, the one I really enjoyed the most, was making a digital video. However, I was very intimidated at first because I have never created one before. I watched some YouTube videos on how to make a digital video using the iMovie software. How did we survive before YouTube? It was very helpful, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was once I got started. Once you have your pictures, the rest is pretty simple. I loved adding text and music to match the tone as well. By the end, I was really impressed with my newly acquired skills!

I cannot believe we are close to the end of July! Where has the time gone? I know that I say that every summer, but this one has been completely different. To be honest, I have been extremely busy and productive.....it feels so good! Before this year, I only dreamed about going back to school to become a librarian. After years of talking about it, I am finally in the process of becoming one! Don't get me wrong, I have been challenged this summer, but I also know that I will be a quarter of the way finished in just a few more weeks! I am so excited and proud of myself!
In the meantime, it's time for me to get back into the groove of teaching. I went and worked in my new to me classroom last Saturday for the first time. This year, I switched classrooms, but will still teach 3rd grade. The move comes with perks though! I am back beside one of my best teacher friends, Mrs. Nakia. She and I share many of the same teaching styles and she really inspires me. I also had it painted baby blue....the only one in a school full of mostly yellow rooms. I can't wait to start decorating it (my favorite part) and pulling it all together.
Well, I'm off....one more week of sweet summer to enjoy!
